We are thrilled to announce that Frankel Building Group has been selected as the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) 2021 Custom Home Builder of the Year, arguably the highest honor in our industry. Winning this award is a testament to the strength of the company Jim Frankel founded, the vitality of our team, and the quality of the homes we are lucky enough to build for our clients.
As we accept this award, we’re drawn to reflect on the evolution of Frankel Building Group. When Jim Frankel founded the firm in 1988, his goal was to create a culture that prioritized customer service above all else. Since then, we’ve refined the home building experience by implementing practices that emphasize client comfort and streamline the decision-making process. When Jim’s sons, Scott and Kevin, became co-presidents in 2015, they expanded the firm through the addition of a unique architectural design department, a portfolio-based build company, and a custom pool entity – resulting in overall revenue growth of over 500%.
We continue to set the standard for excellence in the home building industry by emphasizing key areas of focus, such as environmental responsibility. Every home we build is constructed according to environmentally conscious practices, as defined by the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Environmental Design (LEED) for Home standards – the most widely used green rating system in the world. Both of our co-presidents were early adopters of the green building movement, as they sought a clearer way of measuring the impacts of construction projects. Scott Frankel was the second Master Certified Green Professional in the United States and the first in Texas, and Kevin Frankel is a NAHB Certified Green Professional. As a result of these certifications, Frankel Building Group has registered over 250 LEED for Home projects.
Another key aspect of our success lies in the way in which we cultivate long-term relationships with our clients. Even after the build is complete, we self-perform all warranty work, rather than partnering with a third-party warranty company. We see this work as an opportunity to continue enhancing our clients’ home. This customer service philosophy is exemplified by Frankel Home Care, a customized program for buyers that provides maintenance such as exterior power washing, roof cleaning, and pool care long after construction has ended.
We also remain the only custom home builder in the market to offer full three-dimensional walk-throughs and virtual tours of homes prior to construction. Utilizing Lumion and Revit software, we’re able to provide highly detailed models that showcase interior design textures and finishes in addition to architectural features, so clients are able to experience their homes before officially breaking ground.
Perhaps equally important to the client experience is our fully immersive client-facing CRM tool. This platform allows us to decrease the stress of home building by providing clients with daily photos and personalized updates throughout the build process. Additionally, we assign a Personal Concierge to each project who acts as a liaison between the client and their team of building experts.
Customer service isn’t an afterthought at Frankel Building Group; it’s built into the very framework of our company. We see ourselves as more than just builders.
