We Thrive on Making Your Dream Home a Reality

When you design a fully customizable home, the number of options you can choose from can be a bit overwhelming. That’s where our team of designers and architects comes in. You bring us your likes, dislikes and absolute-must-haves, and we’ll refine your vision into a stunning design you can experience in 3D. This involves three key steps.

First Consultation: The 1D Meeting

At Frankel, we call this the “sketch meeting.” Wielding a black sharpie in one hand and a piece of paper in the other, Frankel’s Senior Builder Designer and Creative Director, Rodney Stevens, begins scrawling (upside down) as you talk about your lifestyle, your family, your home’s function, your design aesthetic, and more. Rodney’s expertise lies in translating your vision into something tangible — something real that represents who you are.

At the end of the first consultation, you should have a tangible image and layout of your home.

Second Consultation: The 2D Meeting

From this point on, things get real. We take your concepts, preferences, and design ideas and transform them into actual 2D renderings of your home. This includes ordering a soils report for your property, translating  Rodney’s sketches onto the computer and finalizing the nitty-gritty details such as room dimensions and square footage.

At the end of the second consultation approximately two weeks later, you should have a precise and to-scale model of your dream home. You’re almost there!

Third Consultation: The 3D Meeting

Did you know that Frankel is the only custom home builder in Houston to offer 3D rendering software? After planning and designing your custom home in our 2D software, our Graphic Design Specialist, Himanshu Madhani, renders your home in 3D. In the software, we can show minute details such as the stone texture, granite type, how the light hits your living room in the evening, or even how your yard will be shaded at any time of day.

During this meeting, the construction conversations begin to happen, as it’s almost time to begin building your home. In addition to budget, questions such as “Should we go ahead and add that fifth bedroom?” or “Which trees on the property should we keep?” are all addressed.

At the end of this stage, you should know how your custom home will look — inside and out.

What happens after these three phases?

After approval, we then move on to building your home. To further drive home that Frankel is a true full-service design-build firm, we handle all the details of the permitting process for you — no hassle on your end required!

You will also have a dedicated project manager that will serve as your main point of contact moving forward. Plus, you’ll have 24/7 access to your project information online!
